ZipTour

The Catamount Zip Tour is an approximately a two-hour experience including three dual zipline spans. After practicing on the Demo span in the base area, you will ride the Ridge Quad chairlift or ATV to the summit, arriving just steps away from the approximately 1,000-foot Ridge span. Here you get the feel of riding down this gradual zipline before you move on to prove yourself on the thrilling, uninterrupted 1,000-drop of the CataMonster span. The CataMonster is 5,523 feet long, the longest zipline in the US! *This is a high-speed cable ride with customer-operated braking and will require low to moderate physical strength and stamina.

Requirements

  • Our minimum age for Zip Lining is 10 years old.
  • Participants must weigh between 50 and 260 lbs.
^We weigh all participants prior to the trip.

This activity is not recommended for guests who are or may be pregnant and those who have or may have heart conditions, high blood pressure, history of back, neck, or bone injuries, recent surgery or any other current physical or mental illness.

What to Wear/Bring

Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the season, but avoid loose clothing that could tangle in ropes or other gear. Skirts or short shorts should be avoided. In late fall or winter months, it is better to come with too many articles of clothing than not enough. We go in the rain, so come prepared with rain gear if needed.

Spring & Summer Wear

  • Close-toed shoes (hiking boots or sturdy sneakers) For your safety, no sandals or flip-flops will be permitted.

  • Light jacket, fleece top, or sweater

  • Rain jacket with hood

  • Light pants

  • Comfortable longer shorts (chafing from the harness could occur with short shorts)

  • Spaghetti strap shirts are not recommended.

Late Fall or Winter Wear

  • Hat or balaclava that will fit under a climbing helmet

  • Wool or synthetic long underwear top and bottom

  • Insulated ski jacket or layers of fleece with a weatherproof shell

  • Wool or Fleece socks

  • Thin gloves (gloves can help your hands stay warm on a cool day)

  • Ski pants on especially cold days

  • Boots (insulated)

You should remove any dangling jewelry and tie long hair back. You will be asked to remove all items from your pockets before going on the tour. If you plan on bringing a camera, smaller cameras with a lanyard are best. If you bring your phone to take pictures you run the risk of dropping or otherwise damaging your phone. Items you bring on the tour may get lost along the course. Please leave valuables in the car.
