Beginning on January 3rd the Women’s Wednesdays Program offers eight sessions of supportive and challenging ski and snowboard clinics for women, taught by PSIA/AASI- trained women instructors. The Wednesday clinics are specially tailored to address each individual’s experience level and aspirations, from those beginning or restarting to those wishing to improve their skills on steeper terrain in every possible condition winter might serve up. Confidence on the snow is a necessary ingredient for improvement at all levels and the Women’s Wednesdays Program offers just the right blend of encouragement, skill development and camaraderie. Complementary hot beverage 2 hour ski/ride clinic Individual video analysis of skiing/riding Participants gather at 9:45 am for a quick self morning stretch and the clinics begin promptly at 10:00am on-snow. Advance registration is required, book by 9:15am before the lesson begins. Your lesson begins with an assessment of your ability level and assignment to an instructor with a group that matches your level.  You will then move on to a quick refresher to make sure there are no questions, then moving on to learning new skills and honing the skills you already have.   

 

Ski Levels

Red: has never skied before 

Orange: has skied once or twice, has not mastered turning or stopping independently on Terrain Garden or Bunny Hill - can walk, glide to a stop, turn in one direction  

Yellow: has mastered turning and stopping on the Terrain Garden and has moved to the Bunny Hill - can ride carpet, make wedge turns in both directions and different sizes in the learning area to control speed.    

Green:- can turn and stop in linking S wedge turns down the Bunny Hill successfully, controls speed by turn shape, skis all green terrain.  *THIS IS THE FIRST LEVEL TO GO UP THE CHAIR * 

Blue: can turn and stop in linking S turns on all green terrain, smaller wedge turns, beginning to match skis throughout the turn. Can ski all green and easy blue terrain. 

 

Purple: can turn and stop in linking S turns down all green and blue terrain. Turns should be completely matched throughout the turn (open or closed track parallel) using the turn to control speed, no longer using a wedge. Can ski all green and blue terrain confidently, beginning to navigate some black terrain. 

 

Black: Navigates Black terrain confidently and would like to continue to increase all mountain skills. *** Only for Privates***



Snowboard Levels:

Red: has never ridden before

IF THE BOARDER CAN ONLY RIDE TERRAIN IN FALLING LEAF, WE WILL NOT BRING THEM UP THE CHAIR UNTIL THEY CAN LINK TURNS

 

Blue: can turn and stop in linking S turns on all green terrain, smaller S turns, into skidded S turns. Can ride all green and easy blue terrain

 

Purple: can turn and stop on all green and blue terrain.  Can ride the chairlift independently. Can ride all green and blue terrain confidently in dynamic skidded S turns. Is beginning to carve.
