Mountain Adventure Program
This exciting seasonal program is for skiers and snowboarders who are ages 7-17 and who can maintain a full day of skiing on intermediate and advanced terrain at Catamount. The program is recreational in nature, with a focus on improvement through increased on-snow time and includes introduction to gates, brushes, moguls and beginner terrain park features along with other terrain to build and reinforce skills. Skiers/snowboarders are grouped by age and ability. The Adventurers will have the opportunity to migrate throughout the season to Mountain FreeRide or Interclub race team at no additional cost. The student is required to have skied from the top of the quad chair unassisted the previous season.
One of the attractive features of the program is the “Express to Lift” concept that bypasses the daily Mountain Cat registration process. This programs meets on the snow ready to slide at 9 AM in front of the Berkshire lodge next to the carpet lift #4 in the Snowsports Learning Area.
A core group of instructors will be assigned to the groups for the duration of the program. Groupings will be based on skiing ability and skier/boarder interests. Each participant will be required to participate in a “ski-off” the first week of the program to properly match your child to an appropriate group. Those who are not available for the first weekend will have their ski-off on their first day attending. The participant must have the ability to ride a lift with other children or with the general public after receiving instructions in order to participate.
